Misty Jones (DRAUPADI) is a Black, transfeminine, actor/writer, filmmaker, and devising-generative artist, based in New York City. Misty is honored to portray this version of Draupadi, whom is a Siddi, Black Gujarati, and Hijra- as well as a freedom fighter. Misty is dedicated feminist and advocate for self-love prior to the widespread popularization of the terms and movements. Misty’s presence and existence in “the industry” and “show business” has confronted the rampant discrimination that alienates Black trans femmes who do not conform to societal expectations of thinness, lightness, or passing privilege. Misty advocates for a world where ALL trans femmes are empowered to claim space and exist in stories that allow them to be seen & celebrated for their full selves.

J. Singh

Raja

J. Singh loves to exist through the characters he portrays. Taking down all personal walls to give each role the most honest representation that make them human, no matter how unpleasant or unlikable. This is evident through his work in many short films, TV, and stage credits. Raised in New York City, he has a tendency to get deeply lost in how culture and society shape human behavior. Self taught actor with a medical background, he implements immense character study for each role.

Through her performances, Isis reimagines classical narratives in contemporary contexts, highlighting their relevance and universal lessons. She is passionate about preserving classical art forms while making them accessible to modern audiences.

Known for her voice, style, elegance, and intentionality, Isis uses performance as a means of honoring her South Indian heritage and creating meaningful connections with audiences.

She is currently pursuing her Masters in Social Work to explore how artistic expression can promote community healing and empowerment.

Lakshay Gosain

Reader

Lakshay is a New York–based South Asian storyteller and product manager, curious about the intricate systems that shape how people live, connect, and move through the world.

By day, he works in digital payments. Outside of work, he is drawn to the cultural overlaps and dissimilarities that shape people’s lived experiences. His creative and personal work often circles themes of migration, ambition, abandonment, tenderness, shame, desire, and the inherited roles we keep performing long after the original audience has left the room.

He is happiest in bookstores, on long walks, at vegan restaurants, in yoga class, near a good keyboard, or headphones in, listening to music. He believes a life can be rebuilt through better questions, softer mornings, simple coffee, and genuine human connection.
